Pune : Loni Kand Police Form Special Squads To Nab Thieves On PMPML Buses

Pune 6th Sept 2023: The officials of the Loni Kand Police Station have formed a special squad to nab the thieves stealing cash and pockets of commuters in the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) buses. The police officials posing as commuters are tasked to travel in the buses and keep a track of such thieves and nab them while committing the crime.

The police have come across a pattern of thieves under which small children are asked to perform theft and the main accused monitor the offence while travelling in the same buses. In such cases the women disown the children or start assaulting claiming that they were not aware of their children involved in such activities knowing that the police will not register an FIR against the children.

However, the police officials have now made a plan to find out the main accused and control the cases of thefts reported in the running PMPML buses. In one such incident reported recently, the police constables of Loni Kand Police station nabbed a woman accused in the bus while she was trying to flee from the spot after stealing cash from a man’s pocket.
