Pune : Marijuana Plants Worth Rs 1.96 Lakh Seized, One Arrested
Pimple Nilakh 6th Sept 2023: The Anti Narcotics Cell of Pimpri Chinchwad Police has arrested a person from the city and have seized Marijuana plants worth Rs 1.96 Lakh from his possession. The accused identified as Dhanesh Aniruddha Sharma, a resident of Gopalganj district of Bihar who was residing in the Pimple Nilakh area in the city was arrested.
According to police, the officials of the Anti Narcotics Cell of the Pimpri Chinchwad Police’s Crime Branch had received information about a person possessing plants of Marijuana plants weighing around 12.462 Kg worth Rs 1,96,930 at a house in Pimple Nilakh area. Accordingly, the police team laid a trap and a house located in the area was raided. The accused was taken into custody and two Marijuana plants were seized.
A case in this regard has been registered at Sangvi Police Station under sections 8 (b) and 20 (a) of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS). Further investigation in the matter is underway.
