Pune: Lonikand Police Arrest Vehicle Thief, Recover Five Stolen Two-Wheelers

Wagholi, 16th November 2021: The officials from Lonikand police station under Pune city police have nabbed a thief and seized five stolen two-wheelers from his possession.

The arrested person has been identified as Devidas Subhash Dahiphale (30), a native of Ahmednagar district. He currently resides in Wagholi.

Police Naik Vinayak Salve had learnt that Dahipale was asking citizens at a tea stall on Bawadi Road whether they wanted to buy a two-wheeler. Accordingly, a team immediately rushed to the spot in Wagholi and arrested him.

During interrogation, he confessed to stealing the two-wheelers. He further said that he had stolen four two-wheelers from Bhosari, Chandannagar, Chikhali and Lonikand police station areas. Police have recovered the vehicles.

The action was taken under the guidance of DCP (Zone 4) Rohidas Pawar, ACP (Yerwada division) Kishor Jadhav and Senior Police Inspector Gajanan Pawar.

The team included Police Inspector (Crime) Rajesh Tatkare, API Nikhil Pawar, PSI Suraj Kiran, ASI Mohan Walke, Head Constable Balasaheb Sakate, Police Naik Vinayak Salve, Kailash Salunke, Ajit Farande, and constables Sameer Pilane, Balasaheb Tanpure, Pandurang Mane, Sagar Shedge and Amol Dhone.
