Pune: Mahametro To Rebuild Demolished ST Station At Shivajinagar

Pune, 14th March 2023: On behalf of Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, minister Dada Bhuse assured MLA Siddharth Shirole on the issue of Shivajinagar ST station demolished by Mahametro for the construction of its underground station. He said the Shivajinagar ST station will be rebuilt. Mahametro demolished the earlier ST station for the construction of their underground station and hence it was shifted to Wakdewadi two years ago.
This station is quite far from the city. Due to this, passengers have to suffer. According to the agreement between the Corporation and Mahametro, Mahametro will rebuild the demolished ST station. However, there is a discussion that the work has stalled because the then minister in the Mahavikas Aghadi government took the stand that the corporation would build a commercial complex along with the station on this site.
Although Minister Bhuse has said that Mahametro is going to build an ST station, the actual situation is still the same. The underground station of Mahametro has been completed. Now they want to start building the station on the upper side.
But there is no transport minister in the cabinet. The departments which do not have a minister are held by the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister. Some senior officials of the ST Corporation said that the whole issue of the new station, its design, is serious. It is necessary to discuss it at the ministerial level, but even in the past, there is a problem as the ministers are not getting time.
