Pune: Maharashtra Government Issues Circular Allowing PMC To Use TDR In Merged Villages

Pune, 23rd December 2022: In a circular published on Wednesday, the Maharashtra government stated that it would let the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) use transfer of development rights (TDR) in the 11 merged villages, which would aid the civic body in land acquisition.
In 2020, 11 villages were merged with the PMC. The Maharashtra government instructed the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) to draft a development plan (DP) for these villages even though they had been integrated with the PMC.
While the Maharashtra government released the aforementioned circular on Wednesday, BJP leaders Ujwal Keskar and Suhas Joshi questioned the choice and requested the state government to revoke it in light of this.
