Pune: Maharashtra Government To Launch Online Certificate System For Orphans

Pune, 5th March 2025: In a move towards greater transparency and accessibility, the Maharashtra government has decided to provide online certificates to orphans, enabling them to avail reservation benefits in education and government jobs.
The state has already implemented a 1% reservation for orphans in education and government recruitment, similar to the quota for persons with disabilities. To streamline the certification process, MahaIT has proposed an online system under the Maharashtra Right to Public Service Act, 2015. The government has approved the development of this Orphan Reservation System, ensuring faster and hassle-free access to certificates.
The project will cost approximately ₹21 lakh, including system maintenance for one year. By digitizing the certification process, the government aims to ensure that orphaned individuals can easily secure their rightful benefits without bureaucratic delays.
