Pune: Mahavikas Aghadi Candidates to Challenge Maharashtra Election Results in Bombay High Court

Pune, 30th December 2024: The losing candidates of the Mahavikas Aghadi in the recently concluded Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Elections are set to file a petition in the Bombay High Court challenging the results. This decision was made during a recent meeting of the Nationalist Congress Party – Sharadchandra Pawar (NCP-SP). The petition will claim that the vote-counting process was tampered with. NCP-SP is also working to involve the defeated candidates from Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) and the Indian National Congress in this legal challenge.
There have been multiple accusations of vote count tampering across the state during the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Elections. To discuss the next steps, NCP-SP held a meeting in Pune. As there is a deadline of January 6th to file any petitions, the petition will be submitted before then. In this meeting, NCP-SP Women’s Wing President Fouziya Khan, Spokesperson Vidya Chavan, and Pune City President Prashant Jagtap were present. Adv. Mehmood Pracha guided the attendees.
