Shivane, 23rd March 2026: In a shocking incident in Pune, a 27-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly setting his wife’s two-wheeler on fire after she refused to return to their matrimonial home. The incident took place in the early hours of Sunday (March 22) in the Shivane area.

The accused, identified as Rajkumar Iranna Sutar, is a resident of Samarthnagar on Sinhagad Road. The complaint was filed by his wife, Shweta Vijay Katkar, following the incident.

Police officials said the couple had been married for a short period, during which the woman lived at her husband’s residence for about three months. Due to persistent disputes, she later moved back to her parental home and has been living separately for nearly one and a half years.

Investigators revealed that the accused had been repeatedly pressuring his wife to return and resume their marital life.

On the night of the incident, the accused allegedly visited her residence again and urged her to come back with him. When she refused, he reportedly became enraged.

Police said he then poured petrol on her parked two-wheeler and set it ablaze, destroying the vehicle.
