Pune: Man Booked for Harassing Woman, Issuing Death Threats in Kalyaninagar
Kalyaninagar, 20th October 2026: Yerawada police have registered a case against Udayraj Navnath Kunde, 25, and an associate after a woman accused Kunde of sexually harassing her, threatening to kill her and forcibly entering her paying guest accommodation in Kalyaninagar.
The FIR was registered on October 14, 2026, following the alleged incidents on October 13. The woman’s identity, workplace and accommodation details have been withheld to protect her privacy.
According to her statement to police, Kunde, who was known to her, had repeatedly pressured her to quit her job because it required her to work late. She alleged that approximately a month before the incident, he had also called her employer, verbally abused him and issued threats over her working hours.
At around 1.30 am on October 13, Kunde allegedly arrived at her paying guest accommodation with two companions, broke the entrance’s smart lock and entered the building. The men allegedly banged on residents’ doors and shouted, disturbing the women staying there.
The complainant alleged that she received a call from Kunde’s associate, who verbally abused and threatened her when she refused to come downstairs. Kunde also allegedly threatened to kill her if she did not enter into a relationship with him.
Later that day, at around 10 pm, Kunde allegedly called the woman to the rear entrance of her workplace, asking her to return his watch.
When she went there, he allegedly pulled her towards him, forcibly kissed her and repeatedly groped her. According to the complaint, he again threatened to kill her if she refused to enter into a relationship with him.
Her employer intervened after hearing her cries and freed her from Kunde’s grip, the statement says. As the employer restrained Kunde, his associate allegedly intervened, leading to a scuffle during which Kunde fled.
The employer and other staff members subsequently took the associate to Yerawada police station. According to the complaint, police sent him to a hospital for treatment because he was bleeding from the mouth.
