Pune: Man Creates Fake Social Media Account to Defame Ex-Girlfriend After Rejection

Kothrud, 19th November 2024: In a disturbing case, a man in Pune allegedly created a fake social media account to defame his ex-girlfriend after she rejected his proposal for a relationship. The accused also threatened to kill her if she reported the incident to the police. The woman, residing in the Kothrud area, has since filed a complaint at the Kothrud Police Station.

According to the police, the complainant had ended her relationship with the accused. Enraged by the rejection, he retaliated by creating a fake social media profile in her name. Through this account, the accused posted defamatory and obscene content targeting the woman and her mother. When the woman confronted him about his actions, he reportedly verbally abused her and issued death threats to dissuade her from approaching law enforcement. Concerned for her safety, the woman ultimately reported the matter to the police.

Police Inspector (Crime) Vikram Singh Kadam is leading the investigation. Further action is being taken against the accused under relevant sections of the law.
