Pune: Man Dies After His Foot Slips, Drowns In Dam While Making Reels

Khed, 12th March 2023: The temptation to become famous in a short period is risking the lives of youths. A young man, who went to a party at Karanjvihire Bhama Askhed Dam in Pune, died after he slipped and drowned in the dam while trying to make reels.

The deceased has been identified as Datta Bharti (24), a resident of Varale and a native of Beed.

Yesterday (11th March), three friends from Varale went to Karanjvihire Bhama Askhed Dam for a party. At this time, Bharti, who was drunk, while standing on the bank of the dam and trying to shoot the reels, died as his feet slipped and he drowned in the water.

The man had become uncontrollable due to excessive alcohol consumption while partying at the dam. While shooting reels, he slipped and fell into the water. As he could not swim, he started drowning, and at this time, his other two friends started shouting for help as they too could not swim. But shortly, he died.

As soon as the Mahalunge MIDC police received information about this, Police Sub Inspector Dinesh Chavan rushed to the spot. Khed taluka disaster relief team contacted the Aapada Mitra of Talegaon for the search for the body. The body was found at noon today.
