Pune: Man Fires Revolver In Air in Self-Defence To Fight Robbers In Wadgaonsheri

Wadagaonsheri, 24th January 2023: On the intervening night of Monday-Tuesday, a young man who was traveling in a car was abused and beaten up, and robbed by the youths drinking beside the bonfire near Nyati Enchante Society in Wadgaonsheri area of ​​Pune.

The said incident happened between 11.45 pm to 12:30 am. The police informed that the young businessman fired a round in the air from a licensed revolver near him in self-defense.

In this incident, Amit Satyapal Singh (33), a resident of Wadgaonsheri, Pune, and a native of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh has lodged a complaint against six police officers at Yerwada police station.

In this case, the police have arrested Rohit Shivram Jaria (18), Sagar Mohan Gaikwad (28), Akshay Garakh Khamkar (27), Rohit Pradip Kshetriya (30), Siddharth Balu Shinde (24) and Navnath Balasaheb Galande (32), all are residents of Pune.

A complaint has been lodged that the said accused robbed the complainant’s 5.5-tolas gold chain worth Rs 2.50 lakh, a gold chain weighing two tolas worth Rs 80,000, and a watch worth Rs 50,000.

According to the information provided by the police, the complainant Amit Singh has an ice cream business and lives in Silicon Society in the Wadgaonsheri area. Singh had taken his car to the ground near Nyati Enchante Society to walk the dog. At that time, five to six youths, who had lit a fire and were drinking alcohol, tried to beat him by abusing him. At that time, the complainant fired one round in the air at the licensed revolver in self-defence.

After that, he left the car at the same place and ran away, and went home. After that, when he went to get the car back, the youths damaged the car by breaking all the windows and mirrors. Also, at the same time, the accused came to the place again and damaged the complainant’s vehicle by hitting it from behind with their car. The accused then beat Singh with wooden sticks and forcibly took his jewelry and cash.

Meanwhile, Navnath Galande has filed a complaint with the police against Amit Singh. In the said complaint, he said that Amit Singh came to the said spot the youths were sitting on fire and was drunk.

One of the youths then ask Singh where he was from and Singh got angry at the said question. After some time Singh came again with the car and called the bit who asked him the question earlier and pointed a pistol at him. As the boy got scared, he held Singh’s hand resulting in the pistol being fired into the air. Singh then ran away from the scene.
