Pune: Man Kidnapped For Rs 8 Lakh Ransom From Fatimanagar, Rescued After 12 Hours
Wanwadi, 20th January 2023: A shocking case of abducting a person by calling and beating him at Shree Sagar Hotel at Fatimanagar Chowk due to financial transactions happened. At this time, Wanwadi Police Station and Crime Branch Unit-4 of Pune city police took action and arrested the accused within 12 hours.
A person went to the Wanwadi Police Station on the night of January 20 and informed that his brother-in-law Pravin Shashikant Patil alias Mohammad Parvez Sheikh (39), a resident of Chandrodaya Niwas, Sathe Vasti, near Lohegaon bus stand, was called to Shree Sagar Hotel at Fatimanagar Chowk in Wanwadi for financial matters, beaten up and forcibly abducted. The abductors called his wife repeatedly on her mobile phone and demanded Rs eight lakh in cash. At this time, Wanwadi police station officers and staff received the information that the said person was taken to Talegaon Dabhade.
Today, the abductors threatened Patil’s family members over the phone and asked them to bring Rs eight lakh in cash if they wanted to see Patil alive.
The police officers and staff of Wanwadi Police Station, as well as the officers and staff of Unit-4 of Pune City Crime Branch, jointly laid a trap for the kidnappers while giving them Rs eight lakh cash as per their demand.
The arrested accused have been identified as Dattatray Shriram Waringe (39), Waghela Park, Talegaon Dabhade, Mahesh Bramhadev Jadhav (32), a resident of Waghela Park, Talegaon Dabhade Station, Pune, Subhash Gopal Sonjari, (40), a resident of Nachkend Vasti, Eagle Opposite Slum, Talegaon Dabhade, Pune, Ravi Hanumant Ankushi (34), a resident of Sonzari Vasti, Talegaon Station, Talegaon Dabhade.
Also, Pravin Shashikant Patil was rescued safely within 12 to 14 hours of being abducted and taken into custody.
According to further investigation, a complaint has been registered. Further investigation of the said crime is being conducted by Police Sub-Inspector Ajay Bhosale.
The said action was carried out under the guidance of Additional Police Commissioner (East Region) Ranjan Kumar Sharma, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ramnath Pokle, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 5) Vikrant Deshmukh, DCP (Crime) Amol Zende, ACP Pournima Taware. The team included Senior Police Inspector Sandeep Shivle, the investigation team of Police Inspector Jayvant Jadhav, Police Sub-Inspector Ajay Bhosale, Police Sub-Inspector Ajay Shitole, Santosh Naik, Atul Gaikwad, Sachin Borate, Nilakant Rathod, Aniket Vable, Amol Jadhav and Assistant Police Inspector Unit-4 Vikas Jadhav, Police Constable Harish More, Vitthal Waval, Ajay Gaikwad, Nagesh Singh Kunwar, Ramesh Rathod.
