Pune: Man killed by stranger because he only had Rs 125, police arrest accused

Pimpri-Chinchwad, May 18, 2020: An intoxicated man killed another man on Sunday afternoon.  Meanwhile, a police investigation has revealed that a business dispute caused the murder and the accused has been handcuffed. The deceased has been identified as Santosh Kulkarni (44) of Vaidvasti , while police have arrested Ganesh Thorat.  What is unique is that both of them do not know each other. The accused was arrested by the Sangvi police within five hours of the incident.

 

According to the police, Santosh and Ganesh were drinking alcohol in Pimple Gurav area.  The two did not know each other, but they were talking to each other as they were drinking together.  Accused Thorat wanted ten thousand rupees and he asked from Kulkarni.  Satisfied with being drunk at that time, Kulkarni said I would give you ten thousand, but then he took out only Rs 125 from his pocket and gave him that.

 

The accused Thorat got extremely angry and said that he promised to pay ten thousand rupees and gave only 125 rupees. He killed Kulkarni by throwing a stone on his head. When Thorat went home, he was covered in blood. Meanwhile, after getting information police rushed to the spot and began the investigation. Under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Dyaneshwar Sable and Police Inspector (crime) Ajay Bhosle, the accused was caught within 5 hours. The accused has confessed to the act he has committed, police said.
