Pune: Man Shot Dead in Dehu Road Following Dispute

Dehu Road, 14th February 2025: A man was shot dead following a dispute over a minor issue in Ambedkar Nagar, Dehu Road, yesterday night at around 11:30 PM.
The deceased has been identified as Vikram Gurav Swami Reddy (37). A complaint regarding the incident was filed by Nandkishor Yadav at the Dehu Road Police Station. Based on the complaint, a case has been registered against the accused, Shabbir Shaikh and Faizal Shaikh.
According to Senior Police Inspector Vikram Bansode, in-charge of Dehu Road Police Station, the incident occurred during the birthday celebration of Nandkishor’s brother Rajkumar’s daughter. A temporary canopy had been set up for the event, and food was being served when the accused arrived at the venue. Reportedly, they instigated a quarrel by asking Nandkishor, “Do you think you are too important?” and then attacked him with a chair.
Vikram Reddy intervened to resolve the dispute, but the accused fired a shot at him. The bullet struck his chest, leaving him critically injured. He was immediately rushed to a private hospital and later transferred to Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial (YCM) Hospital in Pimpri. However, he succumbed to his injuries around 1:30 AM during treatment.
Police have launched an investigation into the case, and efforts are underway to apprehend the accused.
