Pune: Manoj Jarange Patil Levels Serious Allegations Against Dhananjay Munde, Alleges Walmik Karad Will Be Killed in a Fake Encounter

Pimpri-Chinchwad, 19th April 2025: Maratha activist Manoj Jarange Patil has made explosive allegations against Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Dhananjay Munde, accusing him of orchestrating violent crimes, including the murder of Santosh Deshmukh and planning a ‘fake’ encounter of Walmik Karad.
Jarange Patil dismissed the claims made by suspended Police Sub-Inspector Ranjit Kasle regarding the contract of encounter, stating that Karad was a tool exploited for over 20 years and implied that Munde ordered his killing because Karad was no longer needed. He further accused Munde of running criminal gangs for political gain and exploiting public resources and people, asserting that many brutal murders were committed under Munde’s direction and that the political leader seeks to tarnish the Beed district’s reputation for personal power.
The controversy has sparked widespread discussion across Maharashtra, especially in Beed district, where Kasle’s allegations that he was given a contract to kill Walmik Karad have intensified scrutiny on Munde. Jarange Patil claimed that Munde uses his political influence to shield criminals and manipulate investigations, including protecting co-accused in the Santosh Deshmukh murder case. He urged the state government and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to take strict action against Munde’s alleged criminal network and ensure that justice is served without political interference.
Jarange Patil also criticised the suspension of health official Ashok Thorat, suggesting caste-based discrimination and calling for accountability of all involved officials. He warned that Munde’s attempts to malign Beed and control the district politically would not succeed and pledged to resist such moves. The activist emphasised that the truth about Santosh Deshmukh’s murder and related crimes would eventually come to light despite government efforts to protect Munde.
