Pune: Marvel Realtors CEO Vishwajeet Jhavar And Vasu Real Estate CMD Pankaj Kumar Chaurasia Booked For Cheating NRI Of Rs 9.90 Crore
Koregaon Park, 8th February 2022: Pune city police has registered a cheating case against two builders for allegedly duping an NRI of Rs 9.90 Crore.
Based on the complaint from Bhagwan Ramchandra Mukhi (66), a resident of Kalyaninagar, an FIR has been registered at Koregaon Park police station for offences under sections 420 (cheating), 406 (criminal breach of trust) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
According to the police, the complainant Mukhi has the business of electricity distribution in Nigeria. He was acquainted with the accused Chaurasia introduced Mukhi to Jhavar. In 2015, the accused requested him to invest in an under-construction housing project at Boat Club Road Plot No. 207, Sangamwadi Town Planning Scheme C.T.S. Construction Site No. 11,11/1, Koregaon Park.
“The accused promised good returns on investment of Rs 9.9 Crore and entered into an agreement to him three flats as security. However, Mukhi neither got the promised returns nor the flats. The accused sold the plot to the Goel Ganga Group”, the FIR states.
Senior Police Inspector Vinayak Vetal is further investigating the case.
