Pune: MBBS Student Jumps to Death at Sassoon Hospital
Camp, 29th March 2023: A tragic incident occurred this morning when a 20-year-old student of BJ Government Medical College, Aditi Dalbhanjan, died by suicide by jumping from the fourth floor of Sassoon Hospital.
The student was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment, but unfortunately, she couldn’t survive, informed the dean Dr Sanjeev Thakur.
Reports suggest that Aditi, a resident of Anandnagar, Sinhgad Road, was depressed and was struggling to prepare for her college exams. Her father had dropped her off at college on Wednesday morning, but Aditi decided to end her life. The incident occurred around 10:30 am.
The Bundgarden police station has filed a case of accidental death and is currently investigating the matter.
According to police, Aditi as scared of exam results. She had shared her problems with her friends and father. On Wednesday, she kept her bag in the classroom and did not appear for the practical exam. Instead she went to the terrace of old trauma centre and jumped. She had kept her mobile phone at the terrace wall.
