Pune: MCCIA Establishes Excellence Center to Support Women Entrepreneurs
Pune, 8th February 2024: The Maratha Chamber of Commerce and Industries (MCCI) has taken a significant step towards empowering women entrepreneurs by inaugurating the Excellence Center, aimed at providing them with comprehensive guidance from the early stages of their ventures. Situated within the MCCIA building on Tilak Road, this center offers twenty different types of services and is set to provide ample employment opportunities for female entrepreneurs.
The inauguration of the Excellence Center took place on Wednesday, with prominent figures from MCCIA including President Deepak Karandikar, Managing Director Prashant Girbane, Vice President Anand Deshpande, Dr. Vidya Yerawadekar, Rituja Jagtap, Anand Chordia, former Ambassador Gautam Bambawale, and Milind Kamble, founder president of Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industries (DICCI), along with Air Marshal Bhushan Gokhale (Retd.) is in attendance. The center aims to accommodate 25 women entrepreneurs and provide them with various services, including government schemes, certifications, technical processes, and marketing strategies.
The need to increase the number of women entrepreneurs was emphasized, prompting the establishment of this pioneering center, the first of its kind in the state. Detailed information on how to secure a spot at this center, where vacancies will be available for up to six months, was provided by Girbane. Additionally, female entrepreneurs will receive comprehensive guidance from the center, including mentoring sessions with college students, fostering a conducive environment for their growth, as expressed by Karandikar.
Women entrepreneurs are active across diverse sectors, from home-based businesses to engineering. However, challenges such as space, guidance, and financial availability persist. The establishment of this center by MCCIA aims to address these issues and provide a clear direction for women entrepreneurs, as articulated by participating entrepreneur Ujjwala Gosavi.
