Pune, 4th July 2025: Under the guidance of Supreme Court Judge Justice Suryakant, who also heads the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and the Mediation and Conciliation Project Committee (MCPC), a special campaign titled “Mediation for the Nation” has been launched across the country. In Pune district, the initiative is being implemented in all courts under the leadership of Principal District and Sessions Judge Mahendra K. Mahajan, who also serves as the chairperson of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA).

The 90-day campaign, running from 1st July to 30th September, aims to amicably resolve pending and suitable cases from taluka-level to high courts through structured mediation. The DLSA has appealed to citizens to participate and resolve their court matters with mutual understanding rather than prolonged litigation.

Eligible cases must be registered for consideration by 31st July. Selected disputes will be referred for mediation, and final hearings will take place between 1st and 25th September. Cases related to divorce, child custody, maintenance, accident claims, domestic violence, cheque bounce, banking, insurance, consumer complaints, and land or property issues will be included.

The mediation process will involve introduction, joint and separate discussions, advice, and a written agreement if consensus is reached. This approach saves time, reduces legal expenses, avoids delays, and strengthens trust between parties. Trained mediators with 40 hours of certification and expert advisors will support the initiative.

Services will be available during working hours in both online and offline modes. Citizens can contact the Pune DLSA at 020-25534881 or 8591903612, or email [email protected] for more information and assistance.
