Pune, 31st October 2025: The much-awaited metro foot overbridge connecting Deccan Gymkhana and Narayan Peth is nearing completion and is expected to be ready within the next two months. Once completed, vehicular traffic on the Bhide Bridge is likely to resume before the New Year, bringing major relief to commuters.

The Deccan Gymkhana Metro Station, located in the heart of Pune, will soon offer direct pedestrian access to the bustling Peth area through this newly constructed bridge. The 108-meter-long and 8-meter-wide foot overbridge will connect Deccan Gymkhana station to Narayan Peth via Bhide Bridge, enhancing connectivity and easing pedestrian movement.

The launching work for the bridge will begin shortly, and the project is expected to be completed by December. The total construction cost of the bridge is estimated at ₹25 crore.

According to officials, construction work is progressing rapidly despite earlier delays caused by extended monsoon rains. The Pune Metro administration has expedited efforts to complete the project by year-end and open it to the public as soon as possible.

“This bridge will not only improve pedestrian connectivity between Deccan and Narayan Peth but also add to Pune’s urban aesthetics and overall convenience,” said Atul Gadgil, Director, MahaMetro.
