Pune Metro Extends Operating Hours to 11 PM From 26th January
Pune, 25th January 2025: In a significant development for Pune residents, Pune Metro has announced an extension of its operating hours to 11 pm starting from January 26th. This decision follows persistent requests from commuters for longer service hours. Presently, the metro operates from 6 am to 10 pm on both the Purple Line (Pimpri-Chinchwad to Swargate) and the Aqua Line (Ramwadi to Vanaz).
A post on Pune Metro’s official X (formerly Twitter) account stated, “Exciting news for Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad! Responding to public demand, Pune Metro will now run daily from 6 am to 11 pm starting Republic Day, January 26, 2025.”
Maha Metro Managing Director Shravan Hardikar commented on the decision, highlighting the growing demand for extended services. “Considering the increasing ridership and requests from passengers, we decided to extend service hours. This will benefit citizens working late by providing a punctual and safe public transport option,” he said.
Additionally, Hardikar announced a special promotion for Republic Day: the One Pune Transit Card will be available for just Rs 20 to encourage digital ticketing.
