Pune Metro Feeder Bus Services Launched: Kalyani Nagar to Magarpatta Route to Boost Public Transport, Cut Congestion

Magarpatta, 2nd June 2025: In a major step towards sustainable urban mobility, Pune Metro’s integrated feeder bus service between Kalyani Nagar Metro Station and Magarpatta City Campus near Hadapsar, will be operational from 6th June. Operated by Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML), this eco-friendly electric AC bus service aims to promote public transport, reduce dependence on private vehicles, and lower carbon emissions across the city.
Initially, two electric buses will cover a circular route with 25–26 designated stops, connecting key residential and commercial hubs. The service will run daily from 8:15 AM to 8:20 PM from Kalyani Nagar, with a 45-minute frequency. Each bus can accommodate approximately 34 passengers, covering a total distance of around 10.5 km with a one-way travel time of around 45 minutes during peak hours.
The feeder buses are designed to seamlessly link Pune Metro with IT parks and residential areas in Hadapsar, enabling employees and commuters to avoid traffic congestion and improve work-life balance. Fares range from Rs 10 to Rs 20, depending on the distance traveled.
The route includes major stops such as Gulmohar City, Dhole Patil Farm, Mundhwa Chowk, and several IT towers within Magarpatta City. The first bus from Kalyani Nagar will depart at 8:15 AM, while the first from Hadapsar Gadital will leave at 7:30 AM. Services will scale up based on commuter demand and feedback.
This initiative aligns with Pune’s broader goal of integrating metro rail and bus systems to ensure last-mile connectivity and decongest key traffic corridors.
