Pune Metro Plans Shuttle Buses to Pune Airport from Ramwadi Metro Station

Viman Nagar, 14th December 2023: In a bid to assist travelers, Maha Metro and Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mandal Limited (PMPML) are gearing up to introduce shuttle buses connecting Ramwadi and Yerawada metro stations to Lohegaon airport by the end of next month.

These shuttle buses will operate from designated bays at Yerawada station and provide pick-up and drop-off points at Ramwadi station. The initiative comes as a relief for passengers, given the lack of a direct route from the Metro to the airport.

Frequent flyers expressed the need for feeder services and improved last-mile connectivity before the Metro extends to Ramwadi. They emphasized that reliable feeder services would enhance the travel experience for airport-bound passengers.

Notably, this move aims to counter the inconvenience faced by commuters relying on expensive auto rickshaws from Yerawada or Ramwadi Metro stations to reach the airport.

Maha Metro officials affirmed ongoing discussions with PMPML to finalize the frequency of these feeder buses, ensuring consistent and convenient services for travelers. Moreover, Yerawada station is slated to become a multimodal hub with stops for PMPML and MSRTC buses alongside these feeder buses, offering commuters diverse transportation options seamlessly.

This development marks a significant step towards enhancing connectivity and easing travel woes for those commuting to Pune Airport, promising a more convenient and cost-effective journey.
