Pune: Wakad-Thergaon Tax Collection Department Seizes 17 Properties in Drive Against Property Tax Arrears

Wakad, 14th December 2023: The Taxation and Tax Collection Department of Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), specifically the Thergaon Tax Collection Department, executed a seizure drive on Wednesday morning targeting property tax arrears. A total of 17 non-residential (commercial) properties belonging to Rahatani Group No. 4 were seized and subsequently sealed during the operation.

Despite prior issuance of pre-seizure notices to the concerned property holders for non-payment of outstanding taxes, the department took decisive action on Wednesday. The enforcement is part of an ongoing campaign, and authorities have announced that the intensive drive will persist until the end of March 2024.

The seizure drive was conducted under the guidance of Assistant Divisional Officer Shraddha Borde of the Thergaon Tax Collection Department. The operation received support from Group Head Santosh Bandal, along with Milind Kamble, Hiralal Sakhre, Hemant Jadhav, Sadashiv Konde, Somnath Landge, Sanjay Bhat, and a team of employees from the Maharashtra Security Force.

Shraddha Borde, Assistant Divisional Officer of the Thergaon Tax Collection Department said, “Many non-resident property owners have not fulfilled their tax obligations despite prior notices. By the orders from superiors, our Thergaon department is actively conducting a seizure campaign. This action will be intensified, and property holders are urged to take precautions and settle their tax dues before their property faces confiscation.”
