Pune Metro to Open New Entry Gates at PCMC, Shivajinagar and Swargate Stations from Feb 14
Pune, 13th February 2026: Pune Metro will open additional entry gates at three key stations — Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), Shivajinagar and Swargate — from Saturday, February 14, 2026, to enhance passenger convenience, safety and accessibility.
The move comes in response to the rising number of commuters and aims to provide safer and more seamless access to metro services. With the new entry points, passengers will no longer need to cross busy roads, reducing travel time and improving safety.
At PCMC Metro Station, Entry Gate No. 3 has been constructed on the Pune-Mumbai Highway on the Mumbai-bound carriageway. The new access will allow passengers from Pimpri city and visitors to the PCMC building to enter and exit the station without crossing the highway.
At Swargate Metro Station, Entry Gate No. 5 has been developed next to the MSRTC bus stand. The underground passage will enable direct connectivity between the state transport depot and the metro station, helping commuters avoid heavy traffic and the need to cross Jedhe Chowk.
At Shivajinagar Metro Station, Entry Gate No. 3 has been opened near the Akashvani Centre at Shimla Office Chowk. The underground access will benefit commuters travelling from Ganeshkhind Road and the Agricultural College area, offering direct connectivity to the station.
Maha Metro Managing Director Shravan Hardikar said the new facilities have been introduced in view of the increasing passenger footfall. “These additional entry gates will particularly benefit citizens travelling along major roads and will significantly improve convenience and safety,” he stated.
