Pune Metro To Start Operations from 6 March Onwards, People Can Travel On Rs 10 Tickets

Pune, 25th February 2022: The people in Pune will be able to travel in Metro from 6th March onwards for only Rs 10 and 20. The Pune Metro project will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

 

The first phase of the Metro project between Vanaz-Garware College in the city and Pimpri-Phugewadi in Pimpri Chinchwad has been completed. The Vanaz, Anand Nagar, Ideal Colony, Nalstop, and Garware College stations will be open for passengers from March 6 onwards.

 

Work like accelerator, lift, cleaning, etc. have been completed. Maha Metro, the company which is building the project, has started preparations, assuming that Prime Minister Modi will travel in the Metro. The fare will be Rs 10 for the first three stations and Rs 20 for the next stop.

 

Bicycles will also be available on lease through Maha Metro. Preparations for this are now in the final stages. The Railway Safety Commissioner has also inspected both the metro routes. The process of starting passenger transport will now take place immediately after the inauguration.

 

Meanwhile, Maha Metro is in the process of preparing a metro transport schedule for both cities. The metro start service will start at 8 am. Its frequency can be 15-20 minutes.

 

“Metro’s schedule will be finalized considering the response of passengers. Metro train will have three coaches. One of the coaches will be reserved for women passengers. The three coaches can carry about 1,000 passengers at a time”, officials said.
