Pune: Metro Work Creates Problems For Buses On BRT Route
Pimpri, 24th February 2023: Bus traffic on the BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) route has been adversely affected for about 2.5 to three years due to the ongoing work of Pimpri-Metro. Now, Pimpri to Phugewadi Metro has also started running. Metro is also claiming that most of the work in Pimpri-Chinchwad has been completed. But the BRT route is still being blocked by Metro. At Kasarwadi, huge iron frames have been placed on the BRT route.
While the burden of BRT planning in the city has been lifted, the work of Metro is increasing. A huge iron frame has been placed on the BRT route at Kasarwadi, creating a hindrance to PMPML. Buses are running from the main road.
Two-wheelers and four-wheelers using the BRT route are further hampering bus traffic. Also, since the metro works are still going on in many places, various materials from the metro, including grade separators, are being placed on the BRT route.
On the way to Pimpri from the old Mumbai Pune highway, a large iron frame has been placed by the metro on the BRT route at Kasarwadi. Metro station and lift works are going on at this place. The material required for this work is being kept on the BRT route.
