Pune: MHADA Pune Housing Lottery Draw for 4,462 Homes Delayed Beyond December 10; Over 2.11 Lakh Applications Received
Pune, 21st October 2026: The MHADA Pune Board’s housing lottery for 4,462 homes has received an overwhelming response, with 2,11,414 applications submitted as of October 20. However, technical glitches and delays in document verification have forced the board to extend the application deadline for the third time, pushing the lottery draw beyond December 10.
Of the total applications received, 1,41,417 applicants have submitted their applications along with the required earnest money deposit (EMD). With the registration and application submission deadline now extended to October 30, the number of applications submitted with the deposit is expected to increase further. The total could reach two lakh by the end of the extended deadline.
The Pune Board began the registration and application acceptance process on August 24 for 4,462 homes offered under the 15 per cent Integrated Housing Scheme and the 20 per cent Comprehensive Housing Scheme. However, technical issues during the application process led to repeated extensions, causing inconvenience to applicants.
The difficulties increased when the MahaIT system remained unavailable from October 16 to October 20, delaying the verification of applicants’ documents. Consequently, on October 20, the board announced a third extension of the pre-lottery process.
Pune Board Chief Officer Rahul Sakore confirmed that applicants can now complete the registration and application process by October 30. He also said a revised schedule for the lottery process would be announced soon.
Only eligible applicants who have submitted their applications along with the required earnest money deposit will be included in the lottery. The final number of participants will be known after the board publishes the final list of eligible applications.
According to the original schedule, the lottery draw was to be held on October 13. Following earlier extensions, the draw had been postponed to December 4. The latest extension has now pushed the expected date beyond December 10.
The final date of the lottery draw has not yet been announced. It was expected to be declared by Thursday, October 22, according to the information available on October 21.
