Pune: Mild Earthquake Felt Near Koyna Dam; No Damage Recorded
Pune, 7th May 2023: A mild tremor was felt near the Koyna Dam area at around 3:53 am. At the seismic station, the intensity of this earthquake has been recorded as three on the Richter scale. The said tremor was widely felt at midnight in the Koyna area.
The epicenter of the early morning earthquake on 7th May was 50 km north of Koyna Dam. Tehsildar Ramesh Patil informed that there was no damage in the Patan taluka due to the said earthquake.
Nitish Potdar, Executive Engineer of Koyna Project, has clarified that there was no damage to the Koyna Dam.
