Pune: Minor Attacked in Pimpri-Chinchwad After Identifying Accused During Jail Parade; Four Arrested

Rahatani, 11th July 2025: In a shocking incident, a minor was brutally attacked with a machete in the Rahatani area of Pimpri-Chinchwad on 8th July after he identified accused individuals during a jail identification parade related to a previous crime. The attack, which police describe as a murder attempt, has led to the arrest of four suspects.

According to the Kalewadi Police, the incident stems from an earlier case in which notorious criminals Vijay Talware and an associate known as Bond were arrested and subjected to an identification parade at Yerawada Jail. The juvenile victim had identified the accused during this parade, leading to their conviction. Police believe that this identification angered the associates of the convicted men, resulting in the retaliatory attack.

The four arrested suspects have been identified as Sunil Shetty alias Thakur (25), Suraj alias Pillya Shinde (18), Shivrya alias Shivraj Chavan (19), and Krishna Dhaije (20). The victim, who sustained serious injuries, has filed a complaint at Kalewadi Police Station.

Police reports state that the attackers assaulted the minor with a koyta and created panic in the neighborhood by brandishing the weapon in the air, instilling fear among local residents. The swift action by Kalewadi Police led to the apprehension of all four accused.
