Pune: MLC Mohite Patil Appeals to CM Shinde to Resolve Traffic Congestion on Pashan-Sus-Ghotawade Route
Pune, 11th July 2024: Focusing on the western part of Pune District, particularly the roadways, Member of Legislative Council (MLC) Ranjit Singh Mohite Patil has written to Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
The letter highlights that the western entrance to Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) jurisdiction leads to a road going to the capital of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s Swarajya, Raigad. This road includes the Pashan-Sus-Ghotawade-Mulshi route. For the past two years, PMC jurisdiction has been extended to Sus, but the roads here have been neglected by the PMC, resulting in daily traffic congestion. Citizens face this problem every day.
Additionally, this is the only route to Symbiosis College in Lavale, where many students from Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad travel daily. Since Symbiosis offers medical courses and there is a nearby hospital, multiple doctors and ambulances get stuck in the traffic as well.
In conclusion, Mohite Patil urged CM Eknath Shinde to consider the expectations of the citizens and to complete the DP road within the PMC jurisdiction as soon as possible. He also requested the deployment of officials from the Traffic Branch and traffic wardens to manage the traffic.
