Pune: MNS Begins Distribution of Municipal Election Application Forms
Pune, 13th December 2025: The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) city unit on Friday commenced the distribution of application forms for candidates interested in contesting the upcoming Pune civic elections. The process of accepting applications is expected to continue for the next few days.
A former MNS corporator said the move follows party chief Raj Thackeray’s recent directive during his visit to Pune, instructing local workers to begin preparations for the municipal polls. Ajay Shinde, head of the MNS city unit, noted that a significant number of aspirants visited the party office on the first day to collect forms.
MNS has already completed the preliminary round of ward-level meetings. The party maintains a strong presence in key areas, including Kothrud, Kondhwa, and central Pune.
While discussions regarding potential alliances with the Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi (MVA) for local polls are ongoing, party leaders emphasized that preparations will not be delayed awaiting a final decision. “Alliance talks are taking place at the top level, and we are keeping all options open. Our work in previous elections has earned the trust of city voters,” an MNS leader said.
Highlighting the party’s focus on grassroots issues, the leader added, “MNS has always stood for the common people, and our workers will continue this fight in the upcoming civic elections.”
Meanwhile, some party workers raised concerns over discrepancies in the voters’ list. A former corporator pointed out that MNS members had identified issues in the electoral rolls and warned that strong agitation would follow if these objections were not addressed before the elections.
