Pune: MNS Raises Alarm Over Expired Ration Cards In Pimpri Chinchwad

Pimpri, 28th October 2023: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has raised concerns over the expiry of ration cards for citizens in Pimpri Chinchwad and black-marketing in local ration shops. Many residents in Pimpri Chinchwad have had their ration cards expired, depriving them of essential food and medical benefits. In light of these issues, MNS representatives, along with City President Sachin Chikhale, held a meeting with the Foodgrain Distribution Officer Dadasaheb Gite.
This issue has persisted for a long period, with residents facing significant challenges when seeking assistance or information about their closed ration cards. The reasons provided for these closures have often left citizens disillusioned. Additionally, local ration shopkeepers often provide unhelpful responses to citizens’ inquiries.
In response to these challenges, affected citizens are directed to divisional offices, where they often encounter further difficulties in receiving assistance.
It is worth noting that many government processes have moved online, including ration card registration. However, some ration cardholders lack the required 12-digit numbers, and even those with the numbers may face technical difficulties during online registration. These challenges have resulted in citizens struggling to access the benefits they are entitled to.
In light of these concerns, MNS city president Sachin Chikhale emphasizes the need for swift resolution to these problems to ensure that government benefits reach every citizen. “Failure to do so may lead to agitation by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena in Pimpri Chinchwad city”, he warned.
