Pune: Mobile Phone Found In Yerwada Jail Barrack’s Toilet; Investigation Underway
Pune, 4th April 2023: The prison administration at Yerwada Jail has filed a complaint with the local police after a mobile phone was found in the barracks toilet.
The mobile phone was discovered during a routine inspection of the toilets in circle number one and barrack number three by jail officers Bhiru Khalbute, Atul Towar on Monday evening. The phone had no SIM card and its battery was not charged.
DIG Swati Sathe has ordered an inquiry into the matter and called for swift action against the culprits.
Police sub-inspector Ashok Kate of Yerwada police station is currently investigating the case to determine who used the phone and how it ended up in the jail.
