Pune: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Devotees Come Together to Preserve Rajgad Fort
Pune, 4th April 2023: Members of the Gad Durg Seva Samiti offered their services to clean the Rajgad fort, which holds significant historical and cultural importance. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the founder of the Maratha Empire, spent a significant part of his life on this fort, and it also played a crucial role in the upbringing of the second Chhatrapati, Dharamveer Sambhaji Maharaj.
On Sunday, 116 devotees of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj from across Maharashtra, gathered at the fort to collect and dispose of all non-degradable waste, including plastic and glass bottles from the area.
The president of the organization, Ravindra Padwal, used the opportunity to explain to the participants the science of forts, the vision of seeing the fort, and the ideology of acquiring the fort. The organization has been demanding an independent corporation for the upkeep of forts.
