Pune : Mobile Phones Of Apple Worth Rs 2 Crore Stolen From Godown, Man From Jharkhand Held For Theft

Pune 26th August 2023 : The Pune City Police have arrested a man from Jharkhand for allegedly stealing Iphone mobile phones worth Rs 2 Crore from a godown located on Kesnand Road in Loni Kand area. A case in this regard was registered at LoniKand Police Station last month.

According to police, during the investigation of the matter the police team received information about involvement of a gang from Sahibganj district of Jharkhand in the theft. Accordingly, the police team reached Sahebganj and a person identified as Salim alias Asrail Ismail Fazal Shaikh (35) was nabbed. He was brought to Loni Kand police station for investigation where he confessed to the crime.

The accused informed police that he sold the stolen mobile phones to someone with the help of an agent from West Bengal. The police team have launched further investigation to find the agent and other accused involved in the case. Meanwhile, Salim has been arrested in the case.

It may be noted that the accused had stolen 266 mobile phones of Apple company from a godown located on the Kesnand Road in Loni Kand on July 17. A case under sections 454, 457 and 380 was registered in the matter at LoniKand Police Station.
