Pune: Mohammad Wadi and Undri to Get Safer Roads as High-Voltage Power Line Relocation Begins

Pune, 7th February 2025: In a much-awaited relief for residents of Mohammad Wadi and Undri, the long-pending work of relocating a dangerously hanging high-voltage power line and its tower has finally commenced. The project, located on the bridge between Dorabji Paradise and Lavanya Restaurant, has been in the pipeline for over five to six years and is now moving forward with the cooperation of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and Maharashtra Power Transmission Company.
Local resident Ashok Mehendale, who has been actively following up on the issue, shared the update and expressed his gratitude for the support received. “After relentless efforts, the work has now started, ensuring a safer and more efficient commute for residents,” he said.
The project, with an allocated budget of ₹1.82 crore, faced multiple hurdles during the tendering process but has now successfully entered the implementation phase. The estimated timeline for completion is one and a half months.
Once finished, this development will enhance safety and improve infrastructure in the area, addressing long-standing concerns of local commuters. Mehendale emphasized the importance of citizen initiative and perseverance, stating that “change is possible when we take action and work with dedication.”
