Pune: Motorcycle Catches Fire After Rider Loses Balance On Shankarsheth Road
Pune, 17th May 2025: A motorcycle caught fire on Shankarsheth Road this afternoon (17th May) around 2:50 pm after the rider lost control due to a malfunction. The incident led to the rider falling off the bike, which subsequently burst into flames.
Speaking to Punekar News, Fire Officer Prashant Gaikar stated that local residents managed to douse the fire before the Fire Brigade arrived at the scene. “Upon reaching, we continued cooling the vehicle by spraying water to prevent further damage,” Gaikar added.
Gaikar further informed that the motorcycle was too old for safe riding, leading to the rider losing control and the subsequent accident. The rider sustained minor injuries, but with the timely assistance of local residents, a major accident was averted.
