IPS Sandeep Singh Gill Appointed Pune Rural SP
Pune, 17th May 2025: IPS officer Sandeep Singh Gill, who earned a reputation for his outstanding work as Deputy Commissioner of Police of Zone 1 in Pune City Police, has been appointed as the Superintendent of Police for Pune Rural. The Maharashtra Home Department issued the appointment order. His meticulous handling of law and order during major events like the Ganesh Festival highlighted his leadership abilities.
Current Pune rural SP Pankaj Deshmukh (IPS) has been promoted and transferred as Additional Commissioner of Police with Pune City Police.
Gill’s tenure in the city saw improved coordination with Ganesh mandals and effective policing strategies that helped boost public confidence. He also implemented targeted action against urban crime and led programs for the rehabilitation of juvenile delinquents, helping them reintegrate into mainstream life with the support of social organizations.
Gill’s disciplined and forward-thinking approach is expected to bring improved crime control, technological upgrades, and more citizen-friendly policing to the rural areas of the Pune district.
