Pune: Motorcyclist Dies After Being Run Over by Truck in Handewadi

Handewadi, 5th February 2026: A fatal road mishap claimed the life of a 38-year-old motorcyclist near Handewadi Chowk on the Undri Chowk–Mantarwadi Chowk road on Wednesday morning, sending shockwaves through the local community.

According to police, the accident took place at around 11.45 am near Shauryawada Hotel. The rider reportedly lost balance while riding his motorcycle and fell onto the roadway. At that moment, a white truck that was travelling alongside could not stop in time and ran over him, leading to severe head injuries.

The victim has been identified as Azam Abdulrauf Khan (38), a resident of Kondhwa, Pune. He was immediately shifted to Sassoon General Hospital in a private vehicle, but doctors declared him brought dead.

Officials from the Kalepadal traffic division, including API Pravin Jadhav, rushed to the scene with police personnel and secured the area. Both the motorcycle and the truck involved in the incident were seized and taken to the police station for further legal procedures.

The accident led to temporary traffic congestion in the Handewadi Chowk area, which was later cleared by the police. A case has been registered at Fursungi Police Station, and further investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.
