Pune, 21st August 2021: Baramati constituency MP Supriya Sule has demanded Rs 23 crore from the Center for raising and widening the Rajmata subway at Duttnagar Chowk between Katraj Chowk and Navale Bridge on the Katraj-Dehuroad bypass.

Sule has sent a letter to Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari in this regard. The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has prepared a proposal in this regard and has stated that a fund of Rs 23 crore is required. Accordingly, the work should be started as soon as possible by sanctioning priority funds, Sule has demanded.

The underpass at Duttnagar Chowk on the bypass road is an extremely congested stretch. However, as the height and width of this route is too narrow, there are constant traffic jams here. The height and width need to be increased to clear up and avert overcrowding. In addition, there is a huge amount of traffic congestion on this single subway. Therefore, two more subways are needed as alternatives to this subway, stated Supriya Sule in her letter.

In this regard, the NHAI officials have prepared a proposal for which a fund of Rs 23 crore is required. They have pointed out the need to complete the work by allocating funds at the earliest considering the transportation and convenience of the citizens in the area.
