Pune: MPSC Aspirant Abducted, Assaulted Over Friendship With Woman; Rescued by Police
Pune: A 28-year-old Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) aspirant was allegedly abducted and assaulted by four men after they became angry over his conversations with a woman who is a friend of one of the accused, police said.
The incident came to light around 12.30am when a call was received on the 112 emergency helpline reporting that Prasad Suryavanshi had been abducted from the jurisdiction of the Perugate police chowky in a black Scorpio.
Acting on the information, police teams traced and chased the vehicle and rescued Suryavanshi. Two of the accused, identified as Sagar Ramesh Borade (32), a hotelier from Walchandnagar, and Kishor Balasaheb Sawant (32) of Dasur in Malshiras taluka of Solapur district, were taken into custody around 1.23am.
According to police, the accused were enraged over Suryavanshi speaking to Borade’s female friend. They allegedly assaulted him and, with the help of two accomplices, abducted him in his own vehicle and drove towards Sinhagad Road. The victim was allegedly assaulted during the journey.
Police said Suryavanshi and the woman are both aspirants preparing for competitive examinations.
Suryavanshi was taken for medical treatment following the rescue. A case has been registered against all four accused, while police are searching for the two others involved in the alleged abduction and assault.
