Pune: MPSC Probationers Undergo Civil–Military Training to Boost Governance and Crisis Preparedness
Pune, 27th November 2025: Recognizing the evolving security landscape and the critical need for seamless coordination between civil administration and the Armed Forces, the Shivneri Brigade, under Southern Command, in collaboration with YASHDA (Yashwantrao Chavan Academy of Development Administration), has conducted training for probationers of the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC).
This marks the second edition of the Civil–Military Fusion Training Capsule under Southern Command of the Indian Army.
The week-long program brought together 144 probationers—108 male and 36 female—and Army personnel to enhance synergy, institutionalize cooperation, foster mutual understanding, and strengthen interoperability between two pillars of national service. The significant participation of women probationers highlights India’s commitment to diversity in governance and defense collaboration.
The primary objective of the training capsule is to promote informed decision-making, collaborative readiness, and operational coordination between civil authorities and the Indian Army, thereby bolstering governance and crisis response at regional and national levels.

Participants gained firsthand insights into the Army’s ethos, discipline, and professional philosophy, enhancing their understanding of the military’s critical role in safeguarding national sovereignty and supporting civil authorities during emergencies. The initiative is expected to further strengthen civil–military collaboration in areas such as disaster relief, internal security, and developmental initiatives.
The Civil–Military Fusion Training Capsule 2025 represents a strategic investment in India’s governance architecture and Atmanirbhar Bharat. By fostering trust, shared responsibility, and interoperability, the program ensures that future civil servants and the Armed Forces can function as a cohesive team in protecting sovereignty, responding to crises, and driving national development.

Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth, PVSM, AVSM, GOC-in-C Southern Command, lauded the initiative, stating that this joint effort by Southern Command and YASHDA sets a benchmark for collaborative leadership and strengthens the nation’s preparedness for future challenges.
