Pune: MSEDCL Prioritizes Employee Well-being: Chief Engineer Urges Swift Resolution of Medical Insurance Claims

Pune, 23rd November 2023: Employees of the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) working tirelessly in the demanding power sector are facing direct and indirect mental stress, impacting their health. Recognizing these challenges, MSEDCL has extended medical insurance coverage for employees and their dependents to alleviate the burden of medical expenses. Chief Engineer Rajendra Pawar recently directed the insurance company to expedite the settlement of medical treatment expenses.

A crucial meeting addressing the redressal of claims and other issues related to medical treatment expenses took place at the ‘Prakash Doot’ auditorium in Rasta Peth under the Pune circle. Chief Engineer Pawar emphasized the importance of prioritizing the mental and physical well-being of employees working in the high-stress power sector. The meeting saw the participation of Sunita Bhurewar, Senior Divisional Officer of Oriental Insurance Company, Amit Gaikwad, General Manager of Mediclaim TPA Medi Assist Company, Shirish Katkar, Deputy Chief Industrial Relations Officer, and representatives from various employee associations.

During the meeting, Chief Engineer Rajendra Pawar conducted a thorough review of pending insurance claims and other grievances. He stressed the need for prompt verification of claims, directing additional staff deployment if necessary to ensure swift resolution. Pawar issued a directive to the insurance company to adhere to policies that guarantee employees and dependent patients face no financial challenges during hospital admission and treatment.

Representatives from various employee organizations took the opportunity to highlight specific challenges related to medical bills and other difficulties faced by the workforce. The insurance company, represented by Sunita Bhurewar and Amit Gaikwad, assured immediate action to address and resolve the raised concerns.
