Pune: MSRTC Announces 10% Fare Hike for Summer Rush Season
Pune, 13th April 2026: The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation has decided to increase bus fares by 10% during the peak summer travel season.
The revised fares will be applicable from April 15 to June 15, 2026, under a flexible pricing system introduced to manage the surge in passenger demand. The fare hike will apply to ordinary, semi-luxury, and night service buses operated by the state transport body, officials said.
In addition to the fare revision, a cleanliness surcharge of Rs 2 per passenger has also been introduced.
Officials further clarified that passengers who have already made advance reservations for travel during this period will be required to pay the difference between the old and revised ticket fares at the time of their journey.
The move comes as the state transport utility prepares to handle increased travel demand during the summer holidays, when passenger traffic typically rises across Maharashtra.
