Pune-Mumbai Expressway To Remain Closed For One Hour Everyday For Next Three Days, Know Details

Pune 17th Oct 2023: The highway authorities have announced a one hour block on Pune-Mumbai Expressway between October 17 to 19 and October 26. The expressway will remain closed for all kinds of traffic movements between 12 pm and 1 pm on these four days. The authorities have urged commuters to plan their journey considering the block.

The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRDC) is scheduled to install gantries under the Highway Traffic Management System (HTMS) during this period. According to the officials, the installation work will be carried out at Km 47/900 and Km 50/100 at Khandala tunnel and Lonavala respectively on Pune lane October 17. Similarly, the work will be carried out on Mumbai lane at Km 44/800 near Dasturi Police Chowki, Km 33/800 near Khalapur on October 18 and at Km 37/800 near Dheku village and Km 36 on October 19. On October 26, the work will be carried out at Km 47/120 near Khopoli Exit and Km 37/900.

The road will be opened for the vehicular movement after 1 pm all four days. The Highway authorities had earlier announced plans to installs HTMS system on the expressway. The system aims to make the traffic management smart on the road and furthe reduce possibilities of accidents.
