Pune : PMPML’s Cashless Payment Service Gets Good Response, Over 57k Commuters Make Payment Through UPI In 15 Days
Pune 17th Oct 2023: The Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has received a good response to its cashless payment service. The service was launched on October 1st with an intent to provide a digital payment option for commuters to book tickets during their journey.
According to PMPML officials, a total of 46,922 tickets have been sold using UPI payment service between October 1 and 15 and a total of 57,795 commuters have used the service. The transport body has earned a revenue of Rs 12,55,026 through online payment for tickets.
The officials highlighted that the usage of UPI payment to purchase tickets is increasing over the last few days. The commuters are urged to make use of online payment service for their convenience. The online payment option has also solved many problems of the commuters and conductors both as there are no issues related to change while purchasing tickets. The initiative was implemented following a demand from passengers and several activists.
The conductors are provided scanning machines and the commuters can make payments by scanning the QR codes to purchase tickets for their journey.
