Baramarti, 30th January 2023: MP Supriya Sule demanded the Pune Divisional Railway Administration that either Deccan or Pragati Express trains departing from Pune should be departed from Baramati for the convenience of passengers going to Mumbai from Baramati.

Sule made this demand in a meeting with Pune Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Indu Dubey. Officials of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) were present on this occasion. Every day, thousands of workers, students, and citizens come to the Baramati area for the purpose of industry and business education. Many workers are also working in Baramati MIDC.

Similarly, there is a large number of businessmen who travel regularly from Baramati to Mumbai and from Mumbai to Baramati. Only ST bus service for this route is costly and time-consuming, causing inconvenience to the passengers. Therefore, Sule demanded that a direct train service should be started from Baramati to Mumbai.

Pragati and Deccan Express currently depart from Pune. The departure time of these trains is early in the morning and very early in the morning. As a result, passengers going from Baramati to Mumbai cannot find these trains most of the time. It is not possible for them to come to Pune by ST or other vehicles from Baramati and catch those trains from here. As a result, many people have to spend at least two days for work done in one day or have to travel directly by ST.

Considering this matter, if Pragati or Deccan Express leaves Baramati at 5 am, then the train will reach Pune at its scheduled time, and the passengers in the Baramati area will also save time and money, MP Supriya Sule presented the option to the DRM Indu Dubey today.

She said, “If one of the two trains leaves Baramati between 5 am, it will reach Pune at 7 am and depart for Mumbai from there, and if the same train stops at Baramati while returning from Mumbai, many people will be able to travel safely. This service will be beneficial as it will also save time.”
