Pune Municipal Corporation Cracks Down on Building Violations, Penalizes 25 Establishments

Pune, 20th June 2023: In a recent crackdown by the Property Tax department of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), punitive action was taken against 25 establishments found to be in violation of building regulations. The inspection, which targeted areas such as Narhe, Ambegaon Budruk and Khurd, and Dhayari, revealed numerous cases of illegal construction, including the unauthorized construction of terraces and godowns.

During the inspection, it was discovered that these establishments had flagrantly disregarded the city’s building regulations. As a consequence of their violations, penalties were promptly imposed on the offending parties. Furthermore, it was also revealed that certain establishments had failed to fulfill their property tax obligations.

In response to these findings, authorities took appropriate measures to ensure compliance. Non-compliant establishments were either required to issue cheques for the outstanding property taxes or faced the sealing of their premises. These actions aimed to enforce adherence to tax regulations and encourage all establishments to fulfill their financial obligations to the municipal corporation.
